Noora Al-Emadi is a Senior Software Engineer at the Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) – QCAI group, where she applies artificial intelligence to some of the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. Specializing in computer vision, she develops object detection systems that analyze satellite imagery to support crisis response and humanitarian operations, work that sits at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and real-world human impact. Her broader expertise spans urban informatics, social media analytics, applied machine learning, and mobile application development.
Noora holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), alongside a Master’s degree in Data Science and Engineering from HBKU and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Qatar University.
